Safe & Sound Personnel have the following trained Event staff & personnel available:

Security PersonnelEvent Manager / Control

Our Event Controllers have many years experience within this industry. They have, during that time, gained a thorough knowledge of the "Green & Purple Guides".

They have a wealth of knowledge and experience in this field, often controlling up to 250 Stewards and Security Personnel in any one event. They will be on site at all times to liaise with the Safety Officer and / or the Police.
At the end of each venue, the Event Control will carry out a De-Brief session, in order to identify and rectify any problems.

If there has been any Incidents or Accidents, they will complete a Report Form. These forms can then be used at a later date, if an injury or arrest has occurred.

Most of the events we supply now employ the services of our FRG squad. In most cases they are on site to replace the use of the Police, as they are a much cheaper option. Whilst we recognise the fact that this service can sound very aggressive, the qualities we look for in new recruits match the same as the Door Supervisors.

The FRG are on site to deal with any problems that may occur relating to security issues. They will liaise with Event/Match Control and or the Police. They will maintain a low profile until otherwise required and they will deal with any ejection's or arrests, but at all times they will remain polite and courteous.
FRG training consists of Personal Handling, Restraint Techniques, Hand Cuffs (Speed Cuffs) trained and licensed by the Police, Searching, Communication Skills, Body Language, First Aid, Fire Safety, Drug Awareness and the correct arrest procedures (PACE 1994).
Event PersonnelSearchers

Our Searchers consist mainly of SIA trained Door Supervisors. They can be used for searching of vehicles and members of the public entering the site.

Our Searchers are used to working alongside the Metropolitan Police Anti Terrorist Unit, searching all vehicles as they enter the site for firearms and explosives at many high profile venues. The Anti Terrorist Unit has trained all Searchers in bomb recognition.

They are at all times polite and friendly and can adapt their personality to suit the situation in hand.
Event PersonnelPit Crew
Safe & sound event staff
Our Pit Crew consists of teams of individuals that have been specifically trained to deal with high energy, high ego crowds. The stage pit was originally designed to prevent stage invasion. The nature of a high energy crowd, can and does cause distress to some individuals at the front. The stage pit provides an essential rescue area for these individuals.

Our Pit Crew Management Team are specifically trained to spot crushing, distress and crowd movement, in fact any potentially dangerous situation, helping to maintain a safe, enjoyable event for all concerned.
We can also advise on pit design and provide suitably qualified medical pit teams.

Safe & sound event staff
Our Team Leaders have several years' experience in sporting and music events, they are qualified to NVQ Level 2 in Spectator Control.

They have over the last few years shown their ability to work on their own initiative, with minimal amount of instruction apart from the usual pre-event briefing. They are experienced in dealing with large groups of Steward's.

Team Leaders undergo appraisals and regular assessments to ensure they are competent within their working environment.
Event PersonnelStewards
Safe & sound event staff
A trained and well knowledgeable team is the key to staging a well-managed event. Since our stewards and staff are responsible for the safety of the public, it is important to know that they have all been trained to nationally recognised standards.

All our Stewards are enrolled onto a NVQ Spectator Control training course, which meets the tough criteria set by government and regulatory bodies. The National Standards upon which the NVQ is based are not arbitrary standards set by City & Guilds. They were developed by industry experts, including the Football Licensing Authority (FLA) and the National Training Organizations for Sport, Recreation and Allied occupations (SPRITO). Major UK sports clubs support these standards.

The NVQ Spectator Control recognises the expertise and ability of stewards. It has been designed to be adaptable to a range of circumstances and it will be appropriate to all events that require crowd management.
This includes an array of events with static or moving crowds, for instance:
  • Football
  • Rugby
  • Cricket
  • Horse Racing
  • Motor Sports
  • Concerts
  • Parades
  • Civic Events
  • Carnivals
  • Music Events
Once our Stewards are enrolled onto the Spectators Control Training Programme, they are trained in all aspects of crowd control; First Aid, Fire Safety, Emergency Procedures, Law, Crowd Control and Crowd Behaviour etc. Whilst we know there are several qualifications for event stewards the NVQ is the most thorough.

All details for each Steward are kept in a portfolio to enable us to build a full history on each person we employ. These files are available for inspection by any of our customers at any time. As we work all year round, our stewards are guaranteed work. Therefore we have a lower staff turnover than other agencies that only supply to winter events, which in turn guarantees consistency.
